  • Sports first aid outlines the appropriate management of common injuries that can occur during sporting activities, including sprains, fractures, dislocations, and head injuries. 
  • Participants will be introduced to the principles of first aid, including the assessment of the injured person, the initial treatment of injuries, and the communication skills required to manage an emergency situation.
  • The course focuses on practical demonstrations of skills, and participants will have the opportunity to practice basic first aid techniques on their colleagues.
Prerequisites

It is recommended that attendees have the following prerequisites:

  • Although there are no official prerequisites for the course, it is highly recommended that participants have a strong understanding of basic anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
  • It is beneficial to have previous experience in the sports industry, such as as a coach or athlete, to better understand the specific injuries and situations that may arise.
  • Participants should also have a basic understanding of first aid procedures and be comfortable using medical equipment such as tourniquets, bandages, and splints.
